Mass image loss is back in the news again. In 2019, a Microsoft update scrambled some folders, making some data on their cloud network inaccessible. Canon's cloud service recently failed, destroying users' videos and images stored there. And after a recent iPhone/iPad Lightroom update many users found that their images and presets had gone missing.

And the two storms in the gulf and fires in the West reminds us how easy it is for us to lose everything in an unexpected act of mother nature or theft.

So if Cloud storage isn't safe, and we can't protect our files from hurricanes, floods, and fire, what can we do to make sure we don't lose our digital property? Let's have a class on how to back up safely!

Although Joe Lippeatt enjoys photography, he is an IT professional and owner of an IT consulting company. 24Moves Consulting provides IT services to marketing departments in small and medium-sized businesses. It is essential that we keep customer data secure and prevent unexpected data loss ... but if there is a disaster, we need to be able to recover quickly. In this class, Joe will go over the part of our image and business data workflow that prevents catastrophic image and data loss.

CLASS INTRODUCTION

Nothing can suck the creative life out of a person faster than a confusing workflow and the complication of a backup strategy. It can feel like you need a computer degree sometimes! Let's improve our Image Workflow!

DON'T lose all your work due to a poor backup plan, home disaster/robbery, failed hard drive, or accidental deletions! We will walk through a full 3-point backup strategy that you can automate.

DON'T spend hours trying to sort, file, refile, and find images for uploading to all your favorite sites.

In this class, I will walk through my typical workflow for several situations. By creating an action plan that works consistently for you, you can get back to enjoying photography and stop worrying about photo, files, and hard drive mishaps!
